to spanairbarajas2008: and how did he sing in the performances? The reviews were all very enthusiastic.

After hearing Caruso, I believe he is the best tenor that ever sang.
Pavarotti4eva (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
the conductor looks a little star struck there. maybe he is just happy that it is all coming together.

to joelweisberg...Roberto Alagna is now in Seville Spain singing Cyrano. I am singing with him in the choirs and i must to say that he is absolutely amazing as actor and quite impressive as singer but is true that he is not singing at his best. He lost completely his voice in a rehearsal. Nevermind he is very good actor.

Truly the most impressive performance of this particular song. Not even Pavarotti's rendition was as stricking!

I've heard that Alagna in recent years has lost his voice. I don't know, but I'll say that in this recording of a difficult aria, back in the 90's he was brilliant. This rendition seems as good as any I've ever heard. |
